THE ROLE OF MY IDEAS TO ACCEPT (Everyone)

PROJECT ACRONYM: ROMITA

PROJECT

The project is the result of a  contact  of national agencies database. The two schools decide to focus on the idea of building  an European Active Citizenship model.  European Citizenship can grow up only through the  effective cooperation of teachers, parents but, especially, pupils. We would like to establish a "Common  Frame of Reference for Active Citizenship" in Portugal and Italy: creating the "Syllabus" for European Active Citizenship" in which we can find the cultural, scientific and civic competences to become "Citizens";  improving  the actions of "Pupil's Councils" (which already exhist in our schools,) being an important part of our school policy decision. During the two years we will promote the European dimension and the knowledge of the two partners countries, with regard to social issues. The aim of the project is to change from passive civic attitude into a responsible one so as to fight against any kind of discrimination, lack of tolerance, racism and xenophobia.  This goal is possible ONLY with defined and concrete actions.

Main areas of interest and goals:

1) Acquisition of  active civic competences: finding and showing informations on the partner countries with a particular reference to the creation of a  "Common European Frame of Citizenship" and living the culture of the other through the experience of the class exchange

2) Acquisition of new language skills :  improving English language skills; learning the basis of Portuguese and Italian language in order to have a better understanding of all the historical and antropological issues during the project.

3) Creation of new pedagogical strategies and methodologies to attract and motivate students, teachers and parents with regard to project's themes.
